Dr. Jill Cane, Chair
Dr. Jill Cane joins the Polaris Charter School Board of Trustees with thirty years of experience as a public school Principal, Federal Projects Director, Curriculum Coordinator and Mentor Coordinator. She was a Founder of Polaris Charter School and served as the Start-Up Director for school’s first year of operation. Throughout her career, Dr. Cane has focused on developing, implementing and assessing instructional programs that challenge and engage all students. Her consulting includes working collaboratively with parents, teachers, administrators, school board members and government officials in multiple areas of curriculum and professional development. In her personal life, Jill spends as much time as possible with her eight grandchildren, who range in age from 9 to 19. She also enjoys international traveling with her husband, watercolor painting, gardening, reading, Zumba, and classical music.
Jim is a leading expert in technology and owns a successful IT consultant business. He has been involved with the founding of several software start-ups in Southern New Hampshire. Jim is a small-business advocate and holds a strong belief in school choice. Jim provides valuable experience and relationships from his years working with local business owners, professionals and consultants.
Dr. Ali Nakip
Dr. Nakip has a Doctorate of Medicine in General Medicine. He received training in ophthalmic trauma. Dr. Nakip has served as the Health Sciences Department Chair at Mount Washington College. Dr. Nakip also chaired the Curriculum Committee and has served on the Curriculum and Assessment Committee, Academic Quality Committee, and co-chaired the Academic Innovation Committee. Dr. Nakip started his career at Hesser College as a faculty member in 2008. Because of his passion for teaching and education, he remains active as faculty and is currently teaching at the New England College.
Dr. Nakip has completed Eating Disorder Institute Graduate Certificate in 2015 and currently is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Health Education at Plymouth State University. He has worked with different Eating Disorder Programs such as Walden Behavioral Care Laureate Eating Disorders Program.
Brazilian by birth, American by choice. Camila has a Law Degree, but followed her passion and went to drama school, where some doors were opened to work as Assistant Director in a play, and Producer of a Children Theater Magazine for the State Department of Culture, until she left to USA in 95. Enjoys skiing, has fun at karate classes with her son and loves to cook.
As one of the founders, Susan has a clear understanding of the mission and vision of Polaris, and is excited to see how each are being realized in the classrooms at the school every day. Before Polaris, Susan served on the board of the former Scholars’ Academy School for the Gifted in Hooksett, NH. Susan has a degree in psychology, and has studied elementary and special education at the graduate level. She is a mother of three children ages 5, 7, and 9, who inspire her to keep working to make Polaris the best school it can possibly be.
Sharon Klardie joins the Polaris Charter School Board with 20 years of Technology experience. Sharon has a passion for combining technology solutions to drive forward transformation. This passion has extended to community outreach, helping nonprofits, individuals and corporations learn more about Salesforce ecosystem. This community involvement earned Sharon the honor of being named a Salesforce MVP. Sharon has a degree in Economics and a Master in Business Administration. A mother of 2 boys, who keep her on her toes, laughing & smiling. They help inspire her to continue to focus on how we can all connect to move forward each day making it better than the last.
