Update From the Board

The Trustees are excited and looking forward to challenging their fellow Board members, parents, and community friends at the May 23rd Game-a-Thon, to be held at LaBelle Winery in Amherst, from 6-9 PM.  The game store “Boards and Brews” will be running the event, which promises to be a fun, fund-raising way for all participants to support Polaris Charter School.

At the May 17th meeting, the Trustees shared some thoughts on the type of regular financial reporting, which would keep the Board informed on the fund-raising needs and sustainability of Polaris in future years.  The Board also wants to develop greater awareness and media coverage of our Annual Fund Drive as participation was not as broad as we had hoped.  Financial considerations are likely to become part of our goals for 2018-2019, which will be established in a strategic planning workshop on June 24th.

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held on June 21st at 6PM.  This meeting will be the last scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees for the 2017-2018 school year.  As always, members of the public are welcome to attend.  There is time reserved at the beginning of each Board of Trustee meeting for public comments.

The PEF annual picnic is set for June 23rd, 12PM at Clough State Park, Weare, NH. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a splashing good time with current and new Polaris families. A Polaris “hub” meeting area will be established, so new families can be introduced and friendships can begin to unfold. Bring all the towels, sunscreen, food and beach chairs you need to make this a great event. This is a great event for our new families to come join and meet next year’s classmates. The PEF is always looking forward to meeting new families and introducing them to the Polaris family.
